Accommodation is double occupancy. The lodgings we have chosen were selected for their unique character and relatively easy access to other amenities. Banff and Canmore are very interesting communities and offer lots of opportunities for shopping, strolling, museum visits, and people watching!
On the signup form you will be asked if you would like a single or double occupancy room. If you choose a double occupancy room and are travelling as a single, you will be able to request a specific person to share with.
We will be happy to book rooms for you before and after the tour; please contact us for the most recent rates.
All breakfasts are included as are picnic lunches, trail snacks and 2 dinners. Please specify any special dietary requirements you have on your application so we can incorporate them into our menus.
Transfers to and from Calgary and Flight Arrangements
We will be providing shuttles for you from Calgary Airport to Banff and from Canmore back to Calgary. The shuttles times will coincide with flights arriving from Detroit with Delta airlines and from Windsor with Westjet. The shuttle schedule and sign up form will be issued closer to the trip date.
We strongly suggest that you do not plan on an early return flight from Calgary, unless you enjoy getting up at 3:00 am!
Climate
This trip will be operating in early September. The weather at this time of year is usually mild, but in the mountains, it is always unpredictable. Daytime highs will range from 50F - 70 F and nighttime temperatures can drop to freezing. As with alpine environments throughout the globe, the higher you go, the lower the temperature becomes. Ensuring that you have the correct clothing for an alpine environment is crucial. Please review the suggested clothing list you will receive carefully.

Please ensure that your health plan will cover you in case of illness or accident whilst here. Obtain extra travel insurance if necessary.

TESTIMONIAL
“Amazing hiking tour for a great price!”
"When I arrived at the airport the first day for the "Best of the Rockies" tour, Magda was there waving at me and welcoming me. The group was so lovely and friendly, and Mags made us each feel welcome and well cared for. Each day, she tailored the hikes to us; we got to vote on distance and specific choices, as Mags could basically guide us through anything! We got to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, with some of the best guiding I've ever experienced. I've traveled with Backroads, Wilderness Travel, and other great companies. White Mountain Adventures is a bit more budget (slightly simpler hotels), but equally amazing in terms of service, guiding and experience overall. I can't recommend highly enough." - Abby S, NY
